Preparing For your Closing

- Test your water in our BioGuard lab to assure proper winter balance 1 week prior to closing.
- Chemically clean your filter and clean debris from pool.
- Add winterizing chemicals and circulate at least 8 hours before closing the pool.
- All Chlorine/Bromine tablets or sticks must be removed from the skimmer baskets and Brominators/Chlorinators.
- Have closing supplies available by the pool (plugs, blowouts, winter cover, water bags etc.).
- Have a working electrical outlet available.
- If you have an auto cover, pump any water off before our arrival.
- Haver your water level at the the proper level for your pool/cover type (see below).
REMEMBER:
- If we have not winterized your pool in the past, if you have special instructions, or if you have a concrete or Buster Crabbe pool, please let us know.
- Extra service work must be pre-scheduled.
- Do not put the winter cover on before the closing.
- We are not responsible for mesh cover anchors.
- Closing crew does not bring cartridges back to our shop for cleaning. If you would like us to clean them please bring them in and pick them up when finished.
- If you would like us to clean your Mineral Springs Cell, please bring the cell into one of our stores for cleaning.
- Payment is due prior to, or at the time of the closing.
- It is your responsibility to shut off circuit breakers and timers.
- Throughout the winter, check the winter cover for shifting, flattened water bags, etc. Valley Pools & Spas is not responsible for flattened water bags. New water bags have a 30 DAY warranty on seam separation. There will be a service charge to replace bags even if we put on the cover at closing.
- We do not cover above-ground pools with cabled covers.
