Marquis® and Make-A-Wish® team up to grant 11 year-old Michael’s wish
St. Paul, MN (2014) – The bubbly, warm water of a hot tub is irresistible to 11-year-old Michael. The soothing jets and relaxing steam are nothing short of therapeutic for him. It is for these reasons and many others that Michael used his one true wish to wish for a hot tub of his very own. Courtesy of Make-A-Wish and with the help of Marquis and Valley Pools and Spas, Michael’s wish will be granted in 2014. Valley Pools and Spas is one of the many Marquis dealers across the country helping to make wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Valley Pools and Spas contribution is part of the sponsorship, created by Marquis to benefit Make-A-Wish chapters throughout the United States. As the preferred provider for Make-A-Wish hot tub wishes, Marquis has helped grant more than 1000 life-changing wishes since 2000.
“Marquis and Valley Pools and Spas have made a lasting, positive impact on Michael and his family,” said Katrina Sletto, Wish Program Coordinator of Make-A-Wish Minnesota. “Michael’s hot tub will provide fun, joyous moments for the whole family during an otherwise incredibly difficult time.”
The sponsorship of Make-A-Wish was inspired by 17-year-old Andrea’s wish in 2000 to have a hot tub in her backyard. The hot tub eased the physical distress from her chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Now, 14 years later and cancer-free, Andrea continues to enjoy her Marquis hot tub. Her wish inspired Marquis to help with similar wishes. So far, the sponsorship has generated more than $3 million in spa donations and discounts for Make-A-Wish.

Wish Kid Finds Relief in Soothing Water of Marquis Hot Tub
Marquis and Make-A-Wish partner to grant 800th wish
Maplewood, Minnesota. (August 11, 2018)- The bubbly, warm water of a hot tub is irresistible to 11-year-old Louie. The massaging jets and soothing water are therapeutic for treating his cerebral palsy. It is for these reasons and many others that Louie used his one wish for a hot tub of his very own. Courtesy of Make-A-Wish and with the help of Marquis and Valley Pools and Spas, Louie‘s wish will be granted on Saturday, August 11, 2018.
Before being adopted, Louie’s parents were aware of the “unique needs and challenges” he would face, but are grateful for the opportunity to share their story with others. jeannette, Louie’s mother says, “The wish gives us the ability to be together [as a family] and enjoy ourselves. We will be able to provide additional therapy at home for Louie that is fun and entertaining.”
Larry and Cheryl Berczyk, owners and operators of Valley Pools and Spas, are one of the many Marquis Dealers across the country helping to make wishes come true for children with critical illnesses. “It’s always an honor to help Make-A-Wish and Marquis provide a hot tub to a child and family especially on this special occasion marking the 800th wish,” Larry says. “It’s important to recognize the benefits of a hot tub to the child and family’s mental and physical well-being.”
Marquis is the preferred provider for Make-A-Wish hot tub and swim spa wishes. The Berczyk‘s are helping gift Louie a Marquis Signature Euphoria hot tub, which will be the 800th wish granted since Marquis became a corporate sponsor of Make-A-Wish in 2000.
